About image compression
This tool re-encodes JPG and WebP images at their original resolution. It aims to reduce file size while preserving visual quality, without resizing or changing the file format.
How to use
- Add one or more JPG or WebP images.
- Choose a quality and inspect the before-and-after preview.
- Download each compressed image or all results in a ZIP file.
Quality settings
Maximum Quality 95
Prioritizes a look close to the source.
High Quality 85
The recommended default, balancing appearance and file size.
Standard 75
Uses stronger compression when you want a smaller file.
Smaller 65
Prioritizes size reduction; differences may be visible in some images.
The numbers are encoder quality settings, not percentages of the original image quality.
Side-by-side comparison
The original and compressed versions use matching display areas and aspect ratios. Zoom in and drag either image to move both views to the same position, making fine compression differences easier to inspect. Select an item in the results to compare a different image.
About file size
Results vary by image. Files that are already strongly compressed may shrink very little, and a high-quality result can be larger than the source. The tool reports either reduction or increase accurately.
